The Scottish Government‘s Outline Vision for Heat is for a largely decarbonised heat sector by 2050, with significant progress by 2030. District heating has a key role to play and our District Heating Action Plan sets out how we are taking forward recommendations from the Expert Commission on District Heating. The Scottish Government supports district heating through its £5 million District Heating Loan Fund and renewable district heating is a key sector of the £103 million Energy Investment Fund.
