Paul Wheelhouse MSP updates the Scottish Parliament on Energy Efficient Scotland

The Minister for Energy, Connectivity and the Islands made a statement in the Scottish Parliament on Thursday 22nd November updating MSPs on progress to date on the Scottish Government’s Energy Efficient Scotland (EES) programme. You may recall that the First Minister announced the publication of the EES Routemap (supported by £54.5 million) during Day 1 of All Energy earlier this year (related press release available at https://news.gov.scot/news/funding-for-fuel-poverty-and-energy-efficiency).

Mr Wheelhouse outlined the next steps for EES, which include the launch of a public consultation in January 2019 about how the programme can be accelerated and seeking views on the risks involved and how these can be overcome. The Minister also outlined plans for the introduction of new primary and secondary legislation next year to support the delivery of the EES programme.
